Coffee Stories Featuring Linda Tanaka of Copper Door Coffee Roasters

Posted on March 09 2017, By: Joe Murray

Linda knows coffee. If you've ever stopped in our shop and talked with her, you know she oozes coffee knowledge. What's even more admirable is her desire to constantly learn more.

Linda got her start in coffee back in 2009 with a west coast chain, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. She's been soaking up all the knowledge and experience she can ever since.

"My favorite memory with coffee was at the Ala Moana Shopping center in Hawaii. There used to be a huge coffee shop in the middle of the building and the smell of coffee would waft into every corner. It was my favorite smell growing up!"

If you're looking to get into the coffee industry, take some advice from Linda: "Never stop geeking out over coffee, try new and different things, and always practice good habits." She loves the Denver coffee scene for its sense of community, its craftsmanship, sport, and the support of others in the industry.

Linda brought her wealth of knowledge and experience to us in mid-2016, and we are extremely lucky to have her. If you're ever looking to nerd out over coffee, or just want to learn more, talk to her! You'll leave knowing a lot more than when you came in.

She'll be teaching a manual coffee brewing class this Saturday, March 11. Come learn how to brew on Chemex, Aeropress, and discuss the Kyoto style of brewing. More info and tickets are available here!

We're featuring stories from many people in the industry throughout March. Stay tuned for the next post!
