About Hannah

"I don't remember my first cup of coffee, but my mom told me I was about two years-old when 1 started sneaking it from her."
Hannah Ulbrich is the founder and CEO of Copper Door Coffee Roasters, Denver's first and only wholly female-owned coffee roasting company with brick and mortar cafes. Hannah was born to bring fresh roasts to the community. As a supertaster, she has twice as many taste receptors as the average person, allowing her to notice more nuanced flavors and create roasts and blends for every palate. In addition to creating blends for Copper Door Coffee Roasters, she has judged competitions throughout the industry and helps educate the next generation of roasters.

A former educator with an MA in Education, Hannah has turned her two passions into an industry shaping force. From classes open to the public in her roastery, to establishing a Coffee Roasting Engineering class at CU Boulder, she believes sharing knowledge is a foundation for building a stronger industry.  As a mother, she knows we need to invest in systems that can benefit the next generation and make the world a little bit better than we found it.

Hannah built Copper Door Coffee Roasters on a simple conviction: every choice in business can be a force for good. That belief drives everything from her sourcing and helping create demand for women-led bean co-ops to her team culture, where promoting from within is standard practice. In an industry where women hold fewer than 25% of roaster positions, Hannah isn't just running a coffee company. She's changing who gets a seat at the table — from the farm to the cup.
